Hogan Lovells is set to overhaul the international management committee put together in May 2010 when the transatlantic merger between legacy Lovells and Hogan & Hartson went live.

Co-chief executives Warren Gorrell and David Harris (pictured) are consulting partners about the scale of changes to the body, which is responsible for setting and managing the firm's strategy, with partners suggesting single practice group heads could be introduced when the current terms end on 30 April 2013.

The committee currently includes dual leaders for its corporate, finance and litigation practices – with one US-based partner charged with overseeing the Americas and another looking after jurisdictions in the international limited liability partnership.

The IP and regulatory practices already have single leadership, with Duesseldorf-based Andreas von Falck and Washington-based Jeanne Archibald taking on three-year terms at the time of the merger, and several partners have suggested the next step towards integration could see single practice heads throughout.

In addition to the practice group heads, the management committee also includes the firm's regional managing partners for the Americas; Continental Europe; Asia and the Middle East; London and Washington DC.

Suggestions for the new shape of the committee will be put to partners in September. The partnership will then put its recommendations to the board, which will make appointments due to take effect from 1 May 2013. Gorrell and Harris, who lead the management committee, will see their terms end on 30 April 2014.
