Linklaters has lost its second partner this year to Milbank Tweed Hadley & McCloy, with the appointment of projects heavyweight Clive Ransome to the US firm.

Ransome, who specialises in energy and infrastructure, finance and banking law, had his appointment approved at a Milbank partnership vote in May, but served out his notice period at Linklaters.

Having served as a partner at the magic circle firm since 1992, Ransome has worked on a number of major power project financings and structured financings, including advising LG Chem on its acquisition of a controlling interest in a $5bn (£3.2bn) Kazakh national petrochemicals project.
