Norton Rose has lost a duo of London disputes partners with Joseph Tirado joining US firm Winston & Strawn, while Steve Abraham has joined Baker & McKenzie.

Tirado, who headed Norton Rose's international arbitration and alternative dispute resolution practice in London, will join Winston's City arm. He formerly worked at Texas firm Baker Botts until 2007.

Meanwhile, litigation and arbitration partner Abraham, who has a particular focus on energy mining and infrastructure, will join Bakers' London dispute resolution practice. He has experience advising in high-growth markets, including North and Sub-Saharan Africa, China and Turkey.

In a statement, Norton Rose litigation and disputes head Deirdre Walker said: "We can confirm that Joe and Steve have retired from the practice. We wish them all the best for their future careers.

"In the last year we have developed our practice in Europe, with significant growth in London, Frankfurt and Moscow, and our highly rated arbitration practice in Asia has gone from strength to strength.

Pierre Bienvenu continues to head Norton Rose's the arbitration practice as global head of arbitration.

The news comes after top litigation partner Anthony Dutton left the firm to join Dechert's London arm earlier this year.

Dutton, who had been at Norton Rose for 22 years, previously stepped down as head of the firm's global dispute resolution department to take on a role on the firm's partnership council, which he was voted onto in 2010.
