SJ Berwin has shaken up its partnership board, replacing three out of the 11 positions following a firmwide election.
The partnership has elected Germany IP-IT and commercial chief Stefan Kruger, EU and UK competition partner Elaine Gibson-Bolton and corporate real estate partner Michael Goldberg to join the board. The trio will formally take up their posts at the start of November and will stay on until 2015.
Kruger replaces Germany board representative and real estate partner Hans Thomas Kessler, while head of funds Michael Halford and finance head Ian Borman have also been rotated out.
The board is composed of the managing and senior partner; finance director Mike Giles; strategy director Rachel Reid and six partners, including a representative from the firm's German and French offices.
There is also a non-executive director position, currently held by former UBS banker Lucinda Riches. Riches took up the role in April, replacing former Linklaters managing partner Tony Angel.
Three of the partner seats will be rotated every 18 months. Competition partner Tom Usher, litigation partner Hilton Mervis and French representative and corporate partner Maxence Bloch will all see their terms end in the next committee rotation.
Managing partner Rob Day said: "We have chosen to rotate the board in this way to maintain a degree of continuity while keeping the board fresh.
"The partnership has shown their backing for a fantastic group of people that are tremendously respected in professional standing, personal attributes and integrity, and I have no doubt that they will be great additions to the board."
The board focuses on the day-to-day running of the firm, on top of developing key client programmes and financial, internal and expansion strategies. It sits alongside an international management committee, which helps with day-to-day management of the firm's offices.
