Wragge & Co has boosted its London real estate litigation team with the hire of ex-Dundas & Wilson partner Martin Thomas.

Thomas was a senior dispute resolution partner based in London until he quit Dundas earlier this month along with banking partner John Pike.

Thomas, who will join Wragges early next year, is the firm's third recent real estate hire following the spring additions of London planning partner Duncan Field from SJ Berwin and Birmingham regeneration partner Giles Clifford from Manches.

The latest hire, which boosts Wragges' real estate partner headcount to 33, sees Thomas join a 12-lawyer real estate litigation team led by partner Anne Waltham. He is set to work with long-term clients such as Ballymore, Waterstones, John Lewis and LaSalle Investment.

Thomas, a solicitor-advocate, spent 20 years at Herbert Smith, making partner in 1997. Five years later he was promoted to lead the firm's property litigation team, before joining Dundas in 2007 to develop a contentious practice at the Scots firm's London office.

Wragges senior partner Quentin Poole (pictured) said: "Martin will be a superb addition to the firm's real estate offering. In particular, his experience specialising in property and commercial disputes for clients will be an advantage."
