Offshore firm Conyers Dill & Pearman has appointed Narinder Hargun and David Lamb as its new co-chairs.

Both Hargun and Lamb, whose roles took effect on Friday (16 November), succeed long-serving chairman John Collis at the Bermuda-based firm.

Collis, who has retired after chairing the firm for 17 years, joined Conyers in 1984 and was made partner in 1987.

Hargun (pictured), who has been based in Bermuda since 1983, was made up to partner and appointed head of litigation in 1987. He will continue the role while co-chairing the firm.

Meanwhile, corporate partner Lamb relocated to Hong Kong in 2000 after joining the firm's Bermuda office in 1994. He specialises in M&A and will continue to fee-earn alongside his leadership role.

Conyers focuses on company and commercial law, commercial litigation and private client matters in relation to laws in Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands and Mauritius.

The news comes after fellow offshore firm Harney Westwood & Riegels appointed a new managing partner and BVI chief last month, with longstanding managing partner Richard Peters set to step down at the end of the year.

Banking and finance head Peter Tarn will take up the global managing partner role, while private client chief Sheila George will manage the firm's BVI headquarters. Both are set to begin their new roles at the start of December.

Peters, who had been managing partner at the firm for 21 years, drove the outfit's expansion into Hong Kong, the Cayman Islands, Cyprus and Uruguay. According to the firm, a seventh office launch is also in the pipeline.
