Mayer Brown is to hire high profile White & Case litigation partner Alistair Graham for its London office.

Graham, who focuses on financial services disputes and is rated in band two for corporate crime & investigations by Chambers and Partners, has particular experience in regulatory and fraud investigations and asset tracing. In addition to financial services work his client base includes companies in the TMT and oil and gas sectors.

He previously spent time on secondment as Enforcement Counsel to the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

He will join Mayer Brown on Monday (21 January).

Graham, who previously spent time on secondment to the Financial Services Authority as Enforcement Counsel, has worked on high profile matters including advising MGN Pension Trustees, whose funds were misappropriated by Robert Maxwell, and advising in relation to BCCI, Barings and the battle for control of Formula 1. Most notably he represented the former chief executive of Morgan Crucible, Ian Norris, in his extradition battle with the US Government.

Mayer Brown litigation head David Allen said: "We already have a strong presence in London and his appointment will significantly add to that while enabling us to continue to develop our international capabilities."

Graham added: "Mayer Brown has a fantastic global platform with strong capabilities in Europe, the US and Asia, demonstrated by winning a string of high profile cases over recent months. Now is a really exciting time for me to be joining the group."

In 2012 Mayer Brown's litigation team was involved in cases including Supreme Court wins for clients such as the liquidators of NewCap Reinsurance Corporation and BASF in an antitrust case.

White & Case said in a statement: "We can confirm that Alistair Graham has stated his intention to leave the firm to join Mayer Brown. We wish him well in his future endeavours."
