Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) has made up nine lawyers in its annual partner promotions round, including seven in the firm's London headquarters.

The firm's corporate practice has received the largest share of new partners with four, followed by tax with two and one each in finance, litigation and real estate.

The firm's London office has seen the lion's share of promotions, with seven City senior associates made up: Ian Benjamin, Chris Bryant and Richard Werner in corporate, Jamie Wiseman-Clarke in finance, Akhil Markanday in litigation, Bonnie Mahler in real estate and Georgina James in tax.

The remaining two new partners – Nikolay Voznesenskiy and Stephan Krampe – are based in the firm's Moscow corporate practice and Frankfurt tax team respectively.

All the appointments will come into effect at the start of May.

This year's promotions come after BLP made up 11 lawyers to its partnership last year, including nine in London and one each in Singapore and Abu Dhabi. Five of last year's eleven were female, including one non fee-earner – the firm's head of risk, Nicole Bigby.

Outside of London, BLP has offices in Abu Dhabi, Berlin, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Moscow, Paris and Singapore.
