Technology, investment and private client firm Taylor Vinters has boosted its partnership ranks with two new additions including top-rated Bird & Bird commercial partner Rhys Williams.

Williams, who is ranked in band one by Chambers and Partners for UK telecoms work, joins Taylor Vinters' 18-strong Cambridge commercial and technology team alongside Taylor Wessing senior associate Charles Fletcher, who is joining as a partner.

Williams has been at Bird & Bird since 2004, when he joined the firm's London base from Simmons & Simmons. His practice focuses on communications and technology, including regulatory and commercial issues related to outsourcing projects, as well as new technologies such as mobile micro-payment systems, wi-fi solutions and wireless services.

Meanwhile, Fletcher's practice covers venture capital and investment, with a particular focus on technology, digital media, life sciences .

Williams said: "Taylor Vinters offers City-quality work at regional fee rates, which is very in demand among clients, and it is surrounded by top European innovative companies in the Cambridge Science Park, which adds to the appeal of the location. I am optimistic that I can help build the firm's telecoms practice in particular."

Taylor Vinters, which is based in Cambridge, also has offices in London and Singapore.

Taylor Vinters head of technology Patrick Farrant added: "Our commercial & technology team has seen growth of 35% over the last financial year and Rhys and Charlie's arrival mean the team is now 18-strong.
