Berrymans Lace Mawer has made up 17 lawyers in its partnership round this year, almost double the number promoted in 2012.
The promotions have seen seven partners made up in the insurance firm's London office, with one new partner in the professional indemnity practice, one in the product liability team, one in the defamation/privacy team, one in healthcare, alongside three promoted in personal injury.
The remaining 10 promotions, the majority of which are spread across the firm's Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton offices, with Bristol and Southampton adding one each, Birmingham and Liverpool gaining two each and Manchester taking the majority of the new partners with four.
The promotions take partner headcount at Berrymans to 166. The total of 17 is well up on the equivalent round last year, which saw nine new partners join the senior rank, including two in the City.
Berrymans national senior partner Mike Brown (pictured) said: "Our growth is a reflection of the number of new clients and panel reappointments we have secured over the past year, in addition to the number of high-profile and large-scale matters that we are instructed to handle."
Separately, the firm has also promoted 22 solicitors to associate level.
Meanwhile, London firm Winckworth Sherwood has made up two lawyers in London – education and employment specialist Jamie Lynas and transport and infrastructure lawyer Hazel Anderson, taking total partner count to 42.
Winckworth managing partner Roger Fitton said: "Our congratulations go to James and Hazel. Both are excellent lawyers and have made significant contributions to the growth of the firm."
