Osborne Clarke (OC) has continued its growth in London after adding Bird & Bird IP litigation partner Lorna Brazell to its City ranks, making it the seventh partner to join the office in 2013.

Brazell, who joins OC in early May, spent 19 years at Bird & Bird specialising in patent disputes, designs and software copyright matters for high technology clients around the world. She made partner in 2001.

Brazell acted for a number of Bird & Bird's key clients during her time at the firm, including BP Chemicals, Fujitsu, Intel and Oxford Gene Technology.

Her appointment brings the number of partners at OC's City base to 51 while becoming the firm's 38th partner in its business transaction group. Firm-wide, OC now has 147 partners.

Head of litigation at OC Peter Clough said: "Lorna's arrival adds yet more weight to our international disputes practice and significantly enhances our IP and patent litigation capabilities. Her experience and expertise will be of great value to the high tech and IP-rich businesses that we work with and will benefit both existing and new clients of the firm."

In February, the firm strengthened its litigation and TMT practices with the hires of partners Tom Ellis and John Buyers from Wragge & Co and Stephenson Harwood respectively.

In addition, the firm has also picked up real estate partners Shane Toal and Nick Padget from Dundas & Wilson along with former Eversheds corporate head Mark Spinner, who became the firm's 50th partner in London.
