Osborne Clarke (OC) has promoted three lawyers to partner in the UK as part of an eight-strong global haul.
The three UK promotions, which take immediate effect, see London real estate lawyer William Gay and Bristol-based technology and IP lawyer Emily Jones and commercial disputes lawyer Charlie Wedin joining the partnership.
Simon Beswick (pictured), OC managing partner, said: "Congratulations to William, Emily and Charlie on their promotion to partner. Both William and Emily have been at the firm since they joined as trainees.
"Their promotion is down to their legal expertise, client-led ethic and ability to grow our business. Each of them has taken time to develop deep sector knowledge of at least one of our key sectors which means that clients are able to act base commercial decisions on their advice."
Elsewhere the firm is making up three new partners in Spain, one in Germany and one in Italy.
In Barcelona corporate lawyer Ignacio Calero, commercial and competition lawyer Silvia Steiner and employment lawyer Eva Otaegui join the partnership. Meanwhile commercial lawyer Daniel Stein has been made up in Cologne and energy specialist Piero Vigano in Milan. (Last year OC promoted six partners internationally, all of which were based outside of the UK.
The promotion round is up on last year when OC made up six new partners, all of which were based outside the UK.
The internal promotions follow a series of recent hires by the firm including Bird & Bird IP litigation partner Lorna Brazell, who will join OC's City ranks this month, becoming the seventh lateral hire so far in 2013.
In February it strengthened its litigation and TMT practices with the hires of partners Tom Ellis and John Buyers from Wragge & Co and Stephenson Harwood respectively.
The firm has also picked up real estate partners Shane Toal and Nick Padget from Dundas & Wilson along with former Eversheds corporate head Mark Spinner, who became the firm's 50th partner in London.
