Fixed-priced legal services business Riverview Law has signed a strategic alliance with southeast commercial law firm DMH Stallard.

The alliance, which will cover a range of areas including dispute resolution, M&A and real estate, will see DMH Stallard providing additional services to Riverview clients when needed, with the law firm benefiting from additional work from new customers and an extended range of services.

The pair intend to launch a number of new fixed fee services over the coming months, covering both firms' businesses.

Riverview Law chief executive Karl Chapman (pictured) said: "Signing this alliance reflects the huge potential we see in the legal market, particularly for our legal advisory outsourcing solutions. This move enables us to provide businesses with a seamless end-to-end solution."

DMH Stallard managing partner Tim Aspinal said: "Having watched Riverview Law's rapid progress, we approached them when it became clear they were seeking a like-minded law firm ally to help them to deliver against customer demand in some complex and specialist areas."

Riverview, which handles volume fixed-fee work through Riverview Solicitors and Riverview Chambers, is waiting to receive an Alternative Business Structure licence after applying to the Solicitors Regulation Authority for approval last month.

The business launched in February 2012 with the backing of DLA Piper, which has a 21% share in Riverview's parent company, LawVest.

Last month (19 April), Legal Week reported that LawVest had posted a £3.2m loss in its first 16 months of trading however, however Chapman pointed to a "multi-million pound sales pipeline" as a reason for optimism.
