National firm Browne Jacobson has posted a record high turnover for 2012-13, with revenues rising to £45m, up 9% on last year's total of £41.3m.

The firm, which opened two new bases in 2012 in Manchester and Exeter, now has five offices and saw total headcount reach 709 over the year.

The 90-partner firm last year relocated its headquarters to Nottingham, where it saw the largest single increase this year with numbers rising by 75 to 503. The firm has seen a 6.4% rise in work in the region, with Birmingham up 5.5% and London rising 8%.

The year also saw the launch of an apprenticeship scheme in Nottingham, with ten apprentices signing up within six months.

Meanwhile, the firm has recently signed up a string of new clients including Vodafone, Deutsche Bank, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, Government Procurement Service and the National Audit Office.

Managing partner Iain Blatherwick (pictured) said: "Turnover has been growing significantly year on year culminating in our best ever financial performance.

"Our ambition for this year is to take turnover past the £50m mark primarily through delivering on the considerable investment made over the last eighteen months in expanding our national footprint."

The firm's Exeter launch came via the acquisition of a 25-strong team of legal and support staff from local law firm Veitch Penny's defendant insurance and employment practices.
