Field Fisher Waterhouse has placed a bid to take on several floors of a Thames-side site in London, following its search for new headquarters in London.

The firm is thought to have put roughly 80,000 sq ft, covering three floors, under offer at Riverbank House, which is sublet by US hedge fund Man Group, and is located on Swan Lane near London Bridge.

The news, first reported by Property Week, comes after the firm outlined plans to consolidate its two London operations at Vine Street and Ibex House into one City base earlier this year.

Field Fisher appointed agent Knight Frank to search for new premises in January. The firm's current lease ends in 2018, but the firm may move into new headquarters as early as 2014.

Field Fisher declined to comment.

According to Property Week, Man Group continues to occupy around 100,000 sq ft and has previously sublet space to the Royal Bank of Canada.

The news comes as various City law firms are looking to move premises in the City, including Bird & Bird, which signed a pre-let deal from 2016 at 12-14 New Fetter Lane last month that covers all of the 12-storey office development.
