Withers has added seven lawyers to its partnership ranks in its latest promotions round, including four women.

This year's promotions – which took effect from 1 July – mark an increase on last year, when five lawyers were made up.

Three of the new partners are based in the City, including Kate Landells, who joins the firm's family law team; Stephen Richards in the contentious trusts and succession team; and Ceri Vokes in funds, investment, trust and tax.

Two partners are based in Withers' Singapore office, while Chi-Yu Liang has been promoted in the tax and estate planning team in New York and tax lawyer Shannon Smith Retzke made up in New Haven.

Meanwhile, family law specialist, Stacey Devoy, who was made up in London last year, was formally admitted as a Hong Kong solicitor in June and is now a fully-fledged member of Withers' Hong Kong partnership.

Withers managing partner Margaret Robertson (pictured) said: "Our new partners' breadth of specialities and locations neatly encapsulates Withers' position as the go-to law firm for successful people with international interests. I am delighted that the firm's growth, and of course their own professional excellence, has enabled us to make eight appointments this year, and congratulate them all on their achievements."

The new appointments bring the firm's total number of partners to 112.
