Wragge & Co has moved to strengthen its Paris real estate offering with the hire of a four-lawyer team from Bird & Bird led by partner Constance de La Hosseraye.

La Hosseraye joins the firm to head up the Paris real estate practice and brings with her associates Fleur Gaffinel, Jeremy Roigt and Katy Bonixe, with the team plugging the gap left following the departure of partner Henry Ranchon to French law firm Franklin at the start of the month.

After being called to the bar in 1992, La Hosseraye joined local firm De Pardieu Brocas Maffei in 1993 before joining Bird & Bird's Paris office in 2007 as partner. Her arrival at Wragges brings its Paris partner count to ten.

La Hosseraye acts for French or foreign institutional investors, owners of large real estate portfolios and real estate management companies acting on behalf of third parties.

Paris joint-managing partner Pierre Appremont said: "Constance and her team are outstanding lawyers and exciting additions to the firm. Highly regarded in the market-place, Constance has a strong track record advising major French and international institutional investors on the full range of real estate matters."

Wragges' move into Paris in 2010 marked a shift from the firm's previously UK-focused strategy. The Birmingham-based firm also has an EU law-focused branch in Brussels and small offices in China and Germany which specialise in intellectual property work.

Earlier this month the firm posted a steady set of financial results for the 2012-13 financial year with increases in both revenue and profits per equity partner (PEP) of 2% and 3% respectively.

The firm reported turnover of £120.5m for the 12-month period to 30 April, up on last year's total income of £118.2m while PEP rose from £330,000 to £339,000.
