Osborne Clarke (OC) has today (22 July) opened its long-mooted Paris office recruiting partner Beatrice Delmas-Linel from local firm De Gaulle Fleurance & Associes to head up the base.
The Paris office becomes OC's 15th in total and comes after the firm broke off its alliance with French outfit Stehlin & Associes in March 2012.
The firm has stated its intention to make further hires to support IT and intellectual property lawyer Delmas-Linel, who previously held several senior roles in the legal team at Microsoft and was managing partner of Paris headquartered law firm August & Debouzy.
This latest office launch follows a period of expansion for the firm which has also seen new bases opened in Brussels and Hamburg in the last 12 months.
In addition, in July 2012 OC merged with alliance partners in Spain and Italy, which created an international network under a verein structure.
This expansion over the course of a year has seen OC grow from a firm of 450 lawyers across six offices to more than 600 lawyers across 15 offices in seven jurisdictions.
OC managing partner Simon Beswick (pictured) said: "Today is a significant milestone for Osborne Clarke. The opening of our Paris office marks another major step in the first phase of our international expansion, which has seen us establish a truly pan-European business."
The firm recently revealed its latest set of financial results with revenue for the 2012-13 financial year up 14% to £112m; however, following investment in new offices profits per equity partner was down 14% to £350,000 from £406,000.
