Norton Rose Fulbright has lost high-profile dealmakers Jake Robson and Adam Summerly to Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) in Singapore.

Robson and Summerly, who have been based in the city-state for eight and 14 years have been brought in to support increasing demand from MoFo's clients for work based in and out of South and Southeast Asia.

The English-qualified Robson focuses on M&A, private equity, cross-border investment and joint venture work throughout Asia, as well as capital markets transactions in public securities offerings in the region.

Summerly's corporate work primarily focuses on the infrastructure, transportation, energy and natural resources and telecommunications sectors.

The moves leave Norton Rose Fulbright with 16 partners in Singapore, while MoFo now has five partners.

MoFo re-opened its Singapore office in January – after closing in 2009 – with the relocation of Asia managing partner Eric Piesner.

"As more multinational companies expand in the region, Singapore has continued to grow as a key financial and economic center," said Piesner. "The surge of corporate deal making in South and Southeast Asia has created a significant demand for high-quality legal services."

"Jake and Adam, both of whom have extensive M&A experience, bring distinguished track records advising on large and cutting-edge transactions throughout the region."

Since January, Piesner has led a team advising Singapore-based Global Logistics Partners in two joint venture acquisitions of multi-property warehouse portfolios in Japan and Brazil, worth a combined $3bn (£1.9bn).
