The head of Berwin Leighton Paisner's information law unit, Adam Rose, has left to join Mishcon de Reya, marking the latest move in a string of partner exits from the firm.

Rose joined BLP in 1990 before becoming a partner in 1997. He lead BLP's commercial and technology group for 12 years, and was also the head of information law.

He advises clients in the financial, information and publishing and outsourcing sectors and has experience in advising on a wide range of software and related IT contracts.

Rose is also a vice-chair of Lex Anglo-Brasil and is involved with various Latin American chambers of commerce in the UK.

Nick Davis, head of corporate at Mishcon said: "We see Adam's hire as a real opportunity to use his expertise in IT, data protection and complex commercial contracts to grow these particular disciplines of our client offering."

Last month BLP's global head of private equity Raymond McKeeve left to join the London office of US firm Jones Day. McKeeve spent four years at BLP after joining as private equity head in 2009, just a year after leaving Kirkland & Ellis in 2008. Prior to this he was at Linklaters.

BLP is currently in the process of identifying a candidate to replace McKeeve as global head of private equity. The departure is the most high-profile for the firm this year, and comes after the conclusion of a widespread redundancy programme that has seen 102 jobs lost.

Following a restructure of its Managed Legal Services (MLS) division, Patrick Somers, relationship manager for key client Thames Water, left BLP in March this year while MLS chief executive Andrew MacNaughton also left.
