Simmons & Simmons has rejigged its management board, with Germany head of disputes Peter Meyer and City ICT partner Alex Brown taking spots.
Private equity co-chief and Amsterdam corporate partner Leo Verhoeff has meanwhile been reappointed to the board for another term. He has been a board member since 2010. The new roles came into effect at the beginning of the week (16 September).
Meyer and Brown replace financial markets partner Sarah Bowles and Milan corporate partner Marco Franzini. Franzini, who was Italy private equity chief at Simmons, departed the firm to join Eversheds' Italian team earlier this year.
The firm is also looking for a new non-executive director who will sit on the board after Pamela Kirby's term came to an end. Meanwhile, head of Asia Paul Li has stepped down from the board. Li was replaced by Hong Kong employment partner Fiona Loughrey in an election earlier this year.
The board now comprises 11 members: senior partner Colin Passmore, managing partner Jeremy Hoyland, finance partner Alyson Lockett, energy partner Patrick Wallace, Verhoeff, Loughrey, Meyer, Brown, finance director David McLaughlin, marketing & business development director David Staiano and non-executive director Rodger Hughes.
The board, chaired by Passmore, handles the development and implementation of the firm's strategy. It sits alongside a seven-strong international executive committee that includes managing partner Jeremy Hoyland.
The news comes after the firm reappointed Passmore as its senior partner in June. He took up a new four-year term at the UK top 15 firm in August, and will continue to work alongside Hoyland, who started a four-year term in 2011.
