Lawrence Graham has agreed terms for a formal referral arrangement with Indian law firm Naik Naik & Company.

The firm has had an informal relationship with Naik Naik since 2010 and has a number of common clients.

The non-exclusive agreement will focus on strengthening the referral arrangements between the firms as well as developing new opportunities for referrals across both firms' corporate, commercial, litigation and real estate groups.

Naik Naik – which was established in 2004 by Ameet B Naik – has five partners and 25 associates with offices in Mumbai and Delhi. It also has affiliate offices in Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.

Hugh Maule, managing partner at Lawrence Graham, said: "We have had an excellent relationship with Naik Naik & Company for some years and this arrangement is the logical next step.

"As one of the fastest growing and most exciting economies in the world, our clients are focused increasingly on the Indian market, and we will now be able to offer them even better access to the very best local legal advice."

Lawrence Graham recently advised alongside Naik Naik on Indian mining company Kolar Gold's listing on AIM to raise £12m.

In June 2012 Lawrence Graham entered the Brazilian market with an association with Motta Fernandes Rocha Advogado, which has offices in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.

The firm also opened its own office in Singapore earlier in 2012, in alliance with local firm PK Wong and Associates LLC.
