Devereux Chambers is considering its future management strategy following the resignation of its chief executive Beverly Landais.

Landais – who had been at Devereux for four years – was brought in to lead a modernisation programme, which included rebranding of the set and overhauling its client services. She was also responsible for a staffing restructure at chambers and appointed Vince Plant as senior clerk.

She has left to join financial advisory firm Saunderson House as its director of business development and marketing.

Landais said: "Chambers have been fantastic and I will continue to work with them to examine the most suitable approach for succession planning. Devereux is doing what any good business would do, looking at the opportunities for best management going forward."

Most recently the set has seen the arrival of specialist tax counsel Jolyon Maugham who joined in September from 11 New Square.

Former head of Eversheds' in-house advocacy unit, barrister Tom Keith joined Devereux commercial litigation practice in April, marking the end of the firm's specialist in-house advocacy unit. Prior to Eversheds Keith was a tenant at Fountain Court.
