RPC has bulked up its Singapore practice with the hire of Ince & Co head of Asia insurance and reinsurance Iain Anderson.

Anderson joined Ince as a trainee in 1998 and was made up as partner in 2007 before relocating to launch the firm's Singapore insurance offeringthree years later. He is set to start his role at RPC at the start of November.

Anderson's practice focuses on marine and offshore energy claims and coverage issues for insurers and reinsurers.

He will join three other partners in RPC's Asian insurance group specialising in marine and energy disputes and will work closely with partners in the Hong Kong office.

RPC managing partner Jonathan Watmough said: "Iain's arrival significantly broadens our practice and will allow us to handle a much wider range of complex disputes, including in the marine and energy fields."

RPC made its overseas debut in Singapore in 2011, when it hired insurance partner Mark Errington from Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, a legacy arm of Clyde & Co.

Last year the firm launched in Hong Kong with a 40-strong team including corporate partner Jason Carmichael, who joined from Hong Kong firm CdB and JC & Co, and a group of legacy Barlows partners comprising former Clydes Hong Kong senior partner David Smyth, marine insurance partner Andrew Horton, insurance partner Antony Sassi and disputes partner Gary Yin.
