DAC Beachcroft has promoted three female associates to partner in its Northern health practice team. The promotions follow the departure of a five-partner team from DAC Beachcroft's Leeds office to healthcare specialist firm Capsticks in August.

DAC Beachcroft has promoted three female associates to partner in its Northern health practice team.
The promotions follow the departure of a five-partner team from DAC Beachcroft's Leeds office to healthcare specialist firm Capsticks in August.
Charlotte Burnett and Tracey Longfield have been promoted in Leeds, while the Newcastle office has welcomed Gill Weatherill into the partnership.
Burnett – who joined in 2008 from Bevan Brittan – focuses on commissioning and integration, and advises the NHS along with other public, independent and third sector clients on governance, commercial and contract law issues.
Longfield joined DAC Beachcroft in 2009 and is a member of the firm's , safety, health and environment, and healthcare regulatory and public law teams. She advises clients on a broad range of health and safety and regulatory issues.
Weatherill joined DAC in 2008 after ten years at Eversheds. She provides healthcare advice to a wide range of NHS bodies and healthcare professionals with particular expertise in the areas of mental health law, capacity and consent, patient confidentiality, inquests and judicial review.
Nigel Montgomery, head of DAC Beachcroft's health team said the promotions demonstrates the quality of its people and the potential for more 'rising stars' to climb the ladder with the firm.
He added: "These partnership promotions reflect the strength of our health team. These candidates passed a tough promotion process and there are not many firms who have such ready talent striving for the opportunity to progress."
The team departure in August included national health employment chief Rachael Heenan, who headed up DAC Beachcroft's health practice in the north, healthcare regulatory and public law partner Ian Cooper, health commercial specialist Robert McGough, employment lawyer Ron Simms and northern health sector partner Claire Reynolds.
DAC Beachcroft has the largest UK law firm health practice with over 50 partners and 200 fee earners in the healthcare group and 487 fee earners in total operating across the independent and public health sectors. The firm has been advising the NHS since its inception 65 years ago.
DAC Beachcroft saw the largest improvement of any firm in this year's retention rates, keeping on 82% of its September qualifiers (18 of 22), compared to last year's figure which stood at 58% (15 of 26).
