Freshfields' Tim Jones scores GC role for Rugby World Cup organiser
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Tim Jones has been appointed as England Rugby 2015's general counsel. The corporate star, who will remain at Freshfields as an adviser on certain corporate matters, is understood to be moving to a consultant role at the magic circle firm. He will start the England Rugby 2015 role on 1 November.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner Tim Jones has been appointed as England Rugby 2015′s general counsel.
The corporate star, who will remain at Freshfields as an adviser on certain corporate matters, will begin his new role for the 2015 Rugby World Cup tournament organiser on 1 November.
Jones, who served as London managing partner until 2011, has been a corporate lawyer at Freshfields for his entire career, and led the firm's advisory team to the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) from 2003 onwards.
He has also held positions as global co-head of capital markets and head of the London corporate group. Between 1994 and 2000, he worked as the magic circle's firm's lead partner in its Madrid office.
For much of the last year, Jones – alongside fellow corporate partner Martin Nelson-Jones – has been part of a Freshfields team advising the Government on the privatisation of the Royal Mail.
The Rugby World Cup – which will be held in England and Wales in 2015 – is the third largest sporting event in the world after the Olympics and the Football World Cup.
Last month it was revealed Clifford Chance (CC) had been made the official law firm of the Rugby World Cup 2015 after winning a competitive pitch process. CC will provide legal services to Rugby World Cup Limited (RWCL) over the course of the next two years in the run up to the tournament, which kicks off at Twickenham on 18 September 2015.
CC partner Daniel Sandelson will lead a team to help ensure RCWL's commercial rights in the tournament are protected, and that unauthorised third parties do not claim or attempt to associate themselves with the tournament.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
