Europe dominates as Cleary promotes six to partnership in latest round
Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has made up six partners across its global network, one of whom is based at the firm's London and Milan offices. The promotions mark a marginal decrease on last year when the firm made up eight new partners, two of which were based in London.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has made up six partners across its global network, one of whom is based at the firm's London and Milan offices.
The promotions mark a marginal decrease on last year when the firm made up eight new partners, two of which were based in London.
In London and Milan, Carlo de Vito Piscicelli has been promoted to partner. He joined the firm in 2004 and has split his time between London and Milan since last year. He previously worked at the New York office for two years. His practice focuses on leveraged finance and restructuring matters.
De Vito Piscicelli was part of the firm's team advising Rosneft on the $16.8 billion bridge and term financing for the acquisition of BP's interest in TNK-BP, and has represented clients including Fiat, Spanish banking group BBVA and The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Europe dominates the latest round, with the rest of the partner promotions spread across the firm's Milan, Rome, Brussels, Paris offices, with New York taking just two new partners.
Cleary managing partner Mark Leddy (pictured) said: "I am very pleased to introduce our new partners and counsel. They are excellent lawyers and colleagues. Their expertise spans many different practice areas and several geographic regions.

The firm has also made up four lawyers to the role of counsel.
The appointments, which take effect on 1 January 2014, brings the firm's total partnership to 199 and counsel count to 54.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
