Squire Sanders has re-elected its European and US managing partners, Peter Crossley (pictured) and Stephen Mahon, to serve further three year terms.

London-based litigator Crossley had already served two terms as legacy Hammonds' managing partner before the 2011 merger with US firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey.

New York and Cincinnati-based corporate partner Mahon replaced Howard Nichols as US managing partner in January 2012 following the latter's retirement.

The duo's current terms come to an end on 31 December. They were appointed by the firm's UK and US management committees, subject to the consent of the firm's global board. The new terms begin on 1 January 2014.

The firm kicked off the process of selecting candidates for the firm's European managing partner in June.

At the time, names being linked to the role included London head Robert Weekes, Leeds office head Jonathan Jones and Leeds litigation partner Simon Miller.

Chair and CEO James Maiwurm's term still has one more year to run after he was handed a four-year stint following the merger.

Hammonds and Squire Sanders & Dempsey completed their transatlantic tie-up on 1 January 2011, creating a top 50 global firm with combined revenues of around $625m (£407m).
