Weil Gotshal & Manges has made up nine new partners, including four women, in its latest global promotions round.

The promotions – which will take effect from January 2014 – see two lawyers made up in London including litigator Hannah Field-Lowes and Mark Lawford who is part of Weil's business finance & restructuring department.

Field-Lowes has most recently advised business tycoons Sir David and Sir Frederick Barclay on the Maybourne Hotels case. She has also acted for Lehman Brothers, Facebook and the Telegraph Media Group. Lawford has also acted for Lehman Brothers Holdings on the subordinated debt issues in the Waterfall Application.

Weil has also made up four new partners in its New York office, including two women. There were two more promotions in Warsaw and one in Washington DC.

In addition, nine counsel have been elected, including tax and structuring specialist Oliver Walker in London.

London managing partner Mike Francies said: "Hannah, Mark and Oliver are all highly regarded by colleagues, peers and clients alike and their promotions are a reflection of their hard work and commitment to excellent client service. All three have a key role to play in the development of the London office."

The promotions are down on last year's round when 12 lawyers were made up, with three in London.
