Bird & Bird has posted a 5% rise in revenue at the 2013-14 half-year mark.

The firm, which manages its accounts in euros, did not disclose an exact half-year turnover figure but the figures come after the firm posted revenue increase of £249m for the full 2012-13 financial year, up 6% from £235m.

This year's half-year results account for the firm's office opening in Denmark, when it merged with local ally Bender von Haller Dragsted in May.

Investment for the first half of the financial year also includes the hire of a team of franchising lawyers from Field Fisher Waterhouse, including high-profile franchising specialist Mark Abell.

The firm has promoted 11 of its lawyers to partner level during the year.

A spokeswoman for the firm said that the majority of the firm's offices continue to grow "despite difficult market conditions", including the UK.

Last month the firm opened an office in Dubai, transferring Stockholm corporate partner Anders Nilsson to the region.

The firm is the latest to announce its H1 figures, following Ashurst, which revealed a 5.8% increase in its half-year results earlier today (3 December), and Berwin Leighton Paisner, which yesterday announced a 6% rise in revenue at the half-way point.
