Jones Day has made up 34 lawyers in its annual promotions, down from 45 last year.
The appointments, which take effect on 1 January 2014, include two lawyers in London and four in Asia, compared with six lawyers in both regions in 2012.
In London, those to make partner this year include global disputes specialist Adam Brown and business restructuring expert David Harding.
Brown, who is a general commercial litigator, specialises in cross border disputes, with particular experience on matters relating to fraud, breaches of fiduciary duty, negligence and confidential information.
Harding's practice meanwhile focuses on solvent and insolvent restructuring transactions, distressed acquisitions and formal insolvency proceedings.
Last year, those made up in the City included lawyers in M&A, banking and finance, competition, private equity and disputes.
In Asia this year, the firm has promoted two in Hong Kong, one in Tapei and one in Tokyo.
Hong Kong based energy expert Joanna Du advises oil and gas clients on corporate transactions, whilst her colleague Joelle Lau, specialising in capital markets, advises extensively on listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The other two promotions are of global disputes lawyers.
Taiwan based Ming-Wei Lo mainly handles cases arising from the Securities and Exchanges Act, whilst Takashi Tanazawa in Japan focuses on product liability cases, tort cases, contract disputes, labor issues and corporate matters.
Last year in Asia, the firm promoted lawyers in litigation, capital markets, M&A, private equity and competition, and across Hong Kong, Beijing, Tapei, Shanghai and Singapore.
Jones Day has 40 offices globally, 17 of which are in the US and 20 of which are international.
This year's promotions round includes a large portion of US lawyers, and mostly in practice areas such as labor and employment, litigation, banking and finance, real estate and M&A.
