Linklaters corporate partner Florian Drinhausen is set to join Deutsche Bank as co-deputy general counsel for Germany and Central & Eastern Europe.

Drinhausen has been a partner at Linklaters for almost ten years and is one of the firm's global telecommunications, media and technology sector leaders. He advises major domestic and international companies on corporate and M&A matters.

Drinhausen will join Deutsche Bank on 1 February 2014 and will be based in Frankfurt, where he is a member of the bar. He will report to Christof von Dryander, deputy general counsel and general counsel for Germany and CEE, and work alongside Mathias Otto, co-deputy general counsel for Germany and CEE. Von Dryander, a long-serving banking partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton  joined Deutsche last year.

Following the appointment Richard Walker, general counsel and Deutsche Group executive committee member said: "He [Florian] brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His proven expertise will further strengthen our talented legal team."

Deutsche was one of a number of banks involved in the Libor scandal – the alleged manipulation of the inter-bank lending market. The bank recently revealed its third quarter profits had plummeted 98% to €18m (£15.4m), down from €747m (£640m) in Q3 2012, after it set aside more than $1bn to cover potential legal costs.
