Stephenson Harwood's highest paid member took home £895,000 during 2012-13, a 1.6% decrease on the previous financial year.

The amount, contained within accounts filed with Companies House, is down on the equivalent figure of £910,000 in 2011-12.

The report marks the first financial statement for the firm since it began to trade as a limited liability partnership in May 2012.

Fee income at the firm grew by 3.9% to £112.5m during 2012-13, while profit available for division among members remained flat at £36.8. Operating profit also stayed broadly static at £37.5m (£37.1m in 2011-12).

Audited figures show that the firm's revenue increased by 3.7% from £113.3m to £109.3m, after initially disclosing 2% growth in revenue from £110.2m to £112.3m.

The average number of members at the firm grew from 105 to 112, alongside a rise in average staff count, which increased by 3.4% to 702. Average fee-earner headcount increased from 506 to 522, and support staff numbers from 173 to 180.

Staff costs in turn rose by 4.5% to £41.4m, with wages and salaries accounting for £37.2m of the figure.

The 2012-13 financial year has seen the firm launch in Dubai, while it has also officially opened a representative office in Beijing, after its application for a licence to set up an outpost was given the go-ahead by the Ministry of Justice late last year.
