Hogan Lovells has made up 11 London lawyers to partner as part of a 29-strong global promotion round, marking an increase on last year's numbers.

The appointments, which took effect on 1 January, are up on 2013, when just five lawyers were made up in the City in a 24-strong round.

The 11 London lawyers to make partner this year include three in Litigation, Arbitration and Employment (LAE), two in government regulatory, three in corporate, two in finance, and one in IP.

The rest of the promotions are spread across the firm's US, European and Asia offices including 15 in the US (Denver, Houston, New York, and Washington, D.C.), and one each in Frankfurt, Paris and Beijing.

Broken down by practice, seven of the 29 promotions are in corporate, seven in LAE, five in finance, five in government regulatory and five in IP.
In addition to the 29 new partners, 38 new appointments to the role of Counsel, Of Counsel and Consultant have been made.

In a joint statement co-CEOs Warren Gorrell and David Harris, said: "Hogan Lovells' continued commitment to retaining the best talent in the legal sector is evident in these 2014 promotions.
