Clifford Chance (CC) has hired King & Wood Mallesons partner Paul Lingard in a boost for the magic circle firm's Perth office.

Lingard, who joins CC in April, was reportedly 31 years old when he was made up as partner at legacy Mallesons in 2010. He joined Mallesons in 2002.
Lingard specialises in energy, resources and utilities regulatory law. His hire brings the total number of partners at CC's Australia offices in Sydney and Perth to 16.

Allen & Overy (A&O) has appointed Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer senior associate Nick Wall as a partner in its Tokyo corporate practice.

Wall, whose practice covers inbound and outbound M&A, is licensed to practice English law in Japan.

Eversheds has sealed the hire of financial services lawyer Andrew Henderson, who will join the partnership from Ropes & Gray, where he was counsel. 

Henderson joined Ropes & Gray in 2011 from CC, where he headed up the firm's Middle East financial regulatory group for four years from 2006 before returning to London.

Gide has hired Patrick Ouart, the former top legal adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy when he was president of France. Ouart, who joins as a partner in the firm's Paris office, has also been a member of the executive committees of Suez and LVMH.

CMS Cameron McKenna construction disputes head Rupert Choat is set to move back to Atkin Chambers on a full time basis on 1 March.

Choat, who was originally a pupil and barrister at the chambers, was appointed to the leadership role at CMS in 2011 and is deputy head of the real estate and construction sector at the firm. He joined CMS in 2001 and was made up as partner six years later.

Stephenson Harwood has boosted its corporate and projects offering in Dubai with the hire of DLA Piper's Middle East head of finance and projects Sean Angle.

Angle led the regional practice at DLA since he joined the firm from Reed Smith in 2011. At his previous firm, he founded legacy Richards Butler's Dubai office in 2006 and served as managing partner of the office until 2009, when he became head of Reed Smith's Middle East corporate practice.

Trowers & Hamlins has grown its London banking team with the addition of Squire Sanders partner Simon Owen. Owen previously held a role as head of banking at Squire Sanders, before the merger between legacy Hammonds and Squire Sanders & Dempsey went live in 2011.

Field Fisher Waterhouse has bolstered its London office with the hire of Edward Wildman IT disputes partner Geoff Mendelsohn. Mendelsohn joined Edwards Wildman in 2012 from Nabarro, where he served as the firm's head of IT disputes for three years.

Norton Rose Fulbright corporate partner Cathy Pitt has joined CMS Cameron McKenna's corporate practice as a partner. Pitt was made up as partner in 2006 at legacy Norton Rose, where she trained and qualified.

Norton Rose Fulbright has hired Freshfields counsel Geoff Peters as a partner in a boost for its energy M&A ranks in the City. Peters was promoted to of counsel at the magic circle firm in 2011.

Taylor Wessing investment funds partner Tom Cartwright has joined Morgan Lewis & Bockius' business and finance practice in London. Cartwright joined Taylor Wessing in 2007 from legacy Hammonds, where he was made partner in 2004.

The firm has also hired Irwin Mitchell's regulatory and criminal investigations practice head Kevin Robinson as a partner in the firm's litigation practice in London.

Fraser Younson, Berwin Leighton Paisner's former employment and pensions head, has joined Squire Sanders as a partner in its City office.

Younson, a top-ranked employment lawyer with litigation and project work, was previously at Baker & McKenzie and McDermotts, before joining BLP in 2006 as part of the firm's full-service expansion plans.

Baker Botts has recruited Chadbourne & Parke partner Robin Mizrahi, in a rare hire for the firm's London office.

Mizrahi, who specializes in project finance, energy and infrastructure, has a practice focus on emerging markets including Africa, Eastern Europe and the Middle East.

Addleshaw Goddard associate Krista Powell has left to launch a new real estate department at Freeman Fisher. Powell, who joins as a partner, will be based in the firm's Manchester office, which was founded last year.

Specialist funds firm Schulte Roth & Zabel has hired Simmons & Simmons partner Steven Whittaker in its investment management group in London.

Whittaker, who becomes the ninth partner to join the New York firm's London outpost, focuses his practice on the establishment and operation of hedge funds in the UK, Europe and a variety of offshore jurisdictions.

White & Case has recruited Clifford Chance equity capital markets partner Inigo Esteve in its London office. Esteve, who focuses primarily on IPO listings on the London Stock Exchange and other share issuances, will also work alongside the firm's growing EMEA private equity practice.

King & Spalding has hired two senior SEC enforcement and white collar crime partners from Fried Frank. Dixie Johnson, who moves to King & Spalding's Washington DC office, and William Johnson, who joins in New York, were hailed by the hiring firm's government investigations head Christopher Wray as "exactly what we've been looking for".

January was a busy month for Dentons' recruitment team, with the firm adding a number of partners in Europe, including two senior City appointments.

In London, the firm has also brought in the former head of Freshfields energy and infrastructure team Charles July, to advise on project development work, project finance, private M&A and acquisition in the energy sector.

The London office hired Eversheds banking and finance partner Michael Wainwright, a move the firm's UK banking head said would "support Dentons global banking and finance initiatives".

The firm's Paris real estate also hired Allen & Overy counsel Alexandre Poupard as a partner. The former Clifford Chance and Jeantet & Associes lawyer works on M&A transactions with a focus on real estate projects and joint ventures.

Kingsley Napley has recruited Withers civil and criminal fraud litigation partner Fiona Simpson to its London dispute resolution practice.

Simpson has advised a number of different parties on fraud matters, including acting for a UK company, its directors and shareholders defending allegations of advance fee fraud. She joins a Kingsley Napley disputes team that was last year appointed to the Solicitors Regulation Authority litigation panel, and is currently representing the body in a complex civil fraud claim.

Hogan Lovells has hired Maurice Burke from Herbert Smith Freehills as a partner in its Singapore office to lead the litigation and arbitration practice in Southeast Asia. Burke will start in May 2014 and will join Singapore-based partners Jonathan Leach and Paul Teo.

Burke previously headed up the dispute resolution practice in Southeast Asia at HSF.

The firm has also recruited partner Andy Ferris from Allen & Overy to join its international debt capital markets team in Singapore. He will start on 3 March. The firm is also expanding its New York office with the addition of corporate partner Adam Golden from Kaye Scholer.
