Ashurst London head of pensions Steven Hull has joined Eversheds, marking the latest in a string of partner exits at the City firm.

Hull is set to leave Ashurst on 20 March, and is expected to join Eversheds on 1 May. Partner Marcus Fink will replace Hull as head of the firm's London pensions practice, while Caroline Carter will continue to lead the firm's 20-partner employment, incentives and pensions group.

Hull's expertise includes pension scheme reorganisations and mergers, deficit reduction strategies, changing benefit structures, the pension aspects of corporate transactions and negotiations involving the Pensions Regulator.

He joined Ashurst in 2005 as partner from McDermott Will & Emery, where he also headed up the firm's City pensions practice.

A spokesperson for Ashurst said: "Steve has helped us to build up a strong pensions offering since he joined in 2005. We wish him well in his next move."

The move comes in the wake of a number of other partner exits at Ashurst. Earlier this month private equity partner Karan Dinamani departed to rejoin former Ashurst corporate head Stephen Lloyd, who resigned last year, at A&O.

Eversheds' pension team numbers more than 90 lawyers based across its offices. Its clients include Accenture, the BA pension schemes, Bombardier, DHL, DuPont, GE, John Lewis, National Grid, Severn Trent, Siemens, United Utilities, Vauxhall, Veolia and Volkswagen.
