Berwin Leighton Paisner has promoted eight senior associates to its partnership including six in the City.

Half of the promotions are in the corporate practice, with Dylan Mackenzie, Marc Trottier and Usman Wahid joining the firm's London partnership. Matvey Kaploukhiy has been made up in Moscow.

The remaining promotions are spread across London and Hong Kong including two in finance, one in real estate and one in litigation. The appointments will take effect from 1 May.

The promotions are marginally down on last year's round when nine lawyers were made up, with seven in the City. At the time the corporate practice received the bulk of new partners followed by tax.

BLP is the latest firm to reveal its 2014 promotions, earlier this month Freshfields announced it had made up five partners in London as part of a 15-strong round. Disputes gained the largest share of promotions, with Germany adding five new partners and a further two promotions coming in Amsterdam.
