A new boutique set up by a group of senior arbitration partners, including three Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partners, has been named 'Three Crowns'.

The new firm is being launched by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer London arbitration chief Constantine Partasides, Paris-based disputes partner Georgios Petrochilos and former international arbitration head Jan Paulsson.

The new firm will be run from offices in Washington, London and Paris.

Other founding partners of the firm include litigator Luke Sobota who is based in Jones Day's Washington office, Covington & Burling's London-based international arbitration co-chair Gaetan Verhoosel, and international arbitration partner Todd Wetmore from Shearman & Sterling's Paris office.

It is not yet known when Partasides will formally leave the firm, however it is understood that he will continue to work with Freshfields once the boutique is up and running.

Earlier this month a second team of arbitrators left Freshfields in Germany to set up their own independent firm.

Partner Christian Borris who is based in the firm's Cologne office, is leaving the  to set up the firm along with Frankfurt-based partner Sebastian Kneisel and associate Rudolf Hennecke. The new firm – Borris Hennecke Kneisel – will open in May.
