Pinsent Masons has confirmed it is to hold its first management elections since merging with McGrigors in 2012, with the firm also announcing its new partner promotion round.
Both managing partner David Ryan and senior partner Chris Mullen were last re-appointed to their positions in uncontested elections in 2008.
An expected election in 2012 was postponed due to the McGrigors tie-up but is now expected to take place in the next financial year.
Ryan was first voted into the role of managing partner of Pinsent Curtis in 1999, before overseeing mergers with Biddle & Co in 2001 and Masons in 2004, while Mullen (pictured) took up his post in 2005, after then senior partner Julian Tonks stood down due to ill health.
The firm grew revenues by 40% in the 2012-13 financial year following its combination with McGrigors, while profits per equity partner fell by 3.3% to £387,000.
A spokesperson for Pinsent Masons said: "We can confirm that the firm is likely to hold management elections at some stage in the next financial year although no dates have been decided."
Separately Pinsents has promoted 15 lawyers to its partnership, with all but four of the appointments in the UK.
The round, which includes the firm's first ever promotion to partner in Doha, comes into effect from 1 May 2014, and is heavilty weighted towards the firm's financial services, energy and litigation practices.
Sixteen lawyers will also be appointed to the role of legal director.
