Olswang has made up two new partners in its smallest promotions round since 2010.

Kevin Cordina has been added to the intellectual property partnership ranks in London, while restructuring and insolvency lawyer Gordon Geiser has been promoted to the partnership in Berlin.

Cordina, who specialises in electronics and medical devices, joined Olswang in 2006. Before he became a lawyer he worked at telecoms company Nortel as a research engineer.

Geiser will take responsiblity for the firm's German restructuring and insolvency practice.

The appointments, which take effect on 1 May, bring Olswang's partner count to 121 across its eight offices in Europe and Asia.

Olswang CEO David Stewart (pictured) said: "Kevin and Gordon are both great additions to our partnership. Their expertise, energy and the hard work they've put in to contribute to Olswang's success in our sectors and geographies drove an exceptionally strong case for their promotion."

The number of new partners is down on last year's and 2012′s equivalent rounds, when the firm made up three partners in each. In 2011 the firm promoted five lawyers.

In the past year Olswang has made ten lateral partner hires across five jurisdictions in the technology, telecoms, intellectual property, corporate, real estate, tax, employment, litigation and restructuring and insolvency practices.
