Bird & Bird has made 11 new partner additions in its latest promotions round, while Field Fisher has unveiled its smallest round since 2009.
Of Bird & Bird's new partners, four are based in London with a further two in Duesseldorf and one each in Hong Kong, Copenhagen, Abu Dhabi, Madrid and Shanghai.
By practice, the firm's public procurement practice took in the bulk of the promotions with three additions. The corporate and commercial practices collectively took in three new partners, while two have been made up in the intellectual property ranks. The employment, energy and arbitration and disputes practices each made up one partner.
Three of the new partners are female: Elizabeth Belsey in London, Melissa Murray in Abu Dhabi and Coral Yanez in Madrid.
The appointments boost Bird & Bird's partner headcount to more than 270 across its 26 offices.
The number of new partners at the firm is identical to last year but slightly down on 2012, when 12 were made up.
The news comes as Field Fisher Waterhouse announced five new partner promotions, all of whom are based in London.
By practice, two have been made up in the brand protection and trademarks group and one each in public regulatory, risk and corporate.
The promotions, which take effect on 1 May, bring the firm's total partner count to 157.
It is the smallest promotions round for the firm since 2009, when it added four new partners. In both 2013 and 2012 the firm made up six partners, while in the previous two years, the firm promoted nine lawyers.
