Clyde & Co has added nine lawyers to its international partnership, including five in London.
The promotions are up from last year when the firm made up seven lawyers, 50% less than in the previous year.
In addition to London the new partners will be based in Dubai (two), oronto (one) and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (one).
In terms of practice area disputes has secured three new partners, while corporate, real estate, employment, finance, insurance, and marine & international trade have one each. Two of the nine promotions are female.
Meanwhile Clydes has also promoted 12 equity partners to senior equity partner. Eight of these are in London, with one in Manchester, New Jersey, Toronto and Dubai. Six are in insurance, two in real estate, two marine and international trade and one each in employment and finance.
Senior partner James Burns (pictured) said: "The seven promotions within Insurance show our strength across all classes from excess liability, through professional and financial lines to personal injury and clinical negligence. Our breadth of coverage of the Trade and Marine market is also reflected but so too is our continuing growth across dispute resolution, real estate, project finance and employment, already one of, if not the, largest in the City.
"We continue to grow our leading practice in the Middle East and our presence in Africa and are pleased to see the development within the Clyde's model of partners who have joined us relatively recently through our mergers. These promotions, together with our ongoing lateral hire programme, through which we have elected 12 lateral partners in the last two months, demonstrate both our ability to invest in growth and the platform that we are able to provide top-class lawyers to develop their careers."
