Lawrence Graham (LG) has promoted five lawyers to partner ahead of its merger with Wragge & Co.

The promotions will come into effect on 1 May – the same day the firm's combination goes live.

The new partners are spread across real estate, disputes, private capital and corporate.

The new partners include Clive Chalkley in real estate litigation and Alex Jay, who has been made up in disputes. Daniel Ugur is a private capital lawyer, while two senior associates have been promoted in the corporate group: Sam Gray and Kristian Rogers.

All partners will be based in London with the exception of Ugur who will divide his time between Lawrence Graham's London and Singapore office.

The promotions are up on last year when three lawyers were made up in the City.

Hugh Maule, Lawrence Graham's managing partner, said: "All five lawyers have demonstrated excellent client development and management skills. They have each made a significant contribution to the success of their practice groups, all of which are highly regarded within their sector. I am very proud that they have all been successful in their respective fields and am confident that they will continue to inspire others as part of Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co from 1 May."

The merged firm will go under the name of Wragge Lawrence Graham & Co and boast a combined revenue of £171m, with 1,300 people, including 770 lawyers, operating from ten offices worldwide. There will be two UK offices, in London and Birmingham.
