King & Wood Mallesons SJ Berwin (KWM) has promoted nine lawyers to partner in Europe in the final part of a global promotions round of 26 across the member firms' partnerships in the past year.
The promotions round is the first since legacy SJ Berwin merged with Asia Pacific firm King & Wood Mallesons in November.
The European appointments, all from legacy SJ Berwin, take effect on 1 May, while a further ten lawyers joined the China partnership earlier this month.
The Australia partnership made up four lawyers last July, and four months later promoted a further three, with two of the appointments taking effect last December and one at the start of this year.
In the latest batch of promotions, a trio of partners have been made up in London, with the remainder spread across Munich, Paris and Dubai.
Among the 26 promotions made since July, the firm's corporate group took the most new partners, with eight added to its ranks. The litigation and disputes team gained four new partners while real estate took on three. Of the total partner additions, 35% (nine) are female.
Last year legacy SJ Berwin made up five lawyers in its annual round, with the firm's City headquarters gaining two of the new promotions.
