DLA Piper has made up 45 new partners across its global offices in an increased promotions round.
A total of seven new lawyers have been made up in the UK, including four in London. These figures are up from last year, when four lawyers joined the partnership in the UK, including two in the City, out of a 34-strong global round.
This year, as well as four new additions in London there are two in Leeds and one in Edinburgh. City corporate lawyers Mark Chivers and Luca Gori, IP and technology lawyer Anthony Day and real estate lawyer Paul Dineen all join the partnership. Litigator Stuart Ponting and finance & projects lawyer Anna Robson are based in the firm's Leeds office while Alasdair Wood joins the corporate team in Edinburgh.
Globally the US secured the largest share of new partners with 21 in total, Continental Europe has ten, Australia four, Asia two and the Middle East one.
In terms of practice area, corporate saw the largest intake of new partners with 13 promotions, followed by litigation & regulatory with 12 and IP & technology with nine promotions. The real estate group had four promotions with three in tax, two in restructuring and one each in finance & projects and employment.
The promotions came into effect from 1 January in the US and today (1 May) for EMEA and Asia Pacific.
