Clyde & Co has launched its fifth US base with after snaring two partners for a new office in Orange County, California.

Clyde & Co has launched its fifth US base with after snaring two partners for a new office in Orange County, California.
The firm has hired maritime partners Joe Walsh and Frances Keeler from Keesal, Young & Logan to head the Newport Beach office.
The office will focus on energy and maritime markets and is the latest move in the firm's international expansion programme following the opening of an Atlanta office in June last year.
Senior partner James Burns commented: "Opening an office in Orange County is a further step in our expansion in the United States. Through Joe and the new office we have an ideal opportunity to expand our West Coast offering in the marine and energy market, one of the firm's core sectors."
Walsh has expertise in crisis management, environmental compliance, and oil and chemical pollution matter, while Keeler is an expert in environmental law.
New York-based maritime partner John Keough said: "Joe is recognised as a market leader on the West Coast, and we are excited that he chose to join Clyde & Co. Joe's well-respected expertise and our new office in Southern California will complement and expand the strength of our marine and energy practice in New York and across the entire US."
The office opening follows the announcement of the firm's financial results for 2013-14, which showed a 9% year-on-year profit increase.
