Baker & McKenzie has elected 65 new partners in a worldwide promotions round, bringing the total number of partners at the firm to 1,480.

The Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, which includes the UK, has seen the largest number of promotions, with 21 lawyers.

In London four lawyers (pictured) have been made partner; Mark Agnew and Nigel Dolman within the corporate tax practice and Salpy Kouyoumjian and Charles Thomson in the wealth management and dispute resolution practices respectively.

"I'm delighted that Salpy, Charles, Nigel and Mark are joining the partnership," said London managing partner Paul Rawlinson. "They have already made significant contributions to their respective practices and I have no doubt that they'll continue to drive success for the London office and the firm in their new roles."

In this round of promotions, 28% of those made up are female.

In May the firm appointed its inaugural inclusion and diversity partner, Sarah Gregory, following last years' introduction of a global target in to increase the percentage of female equity partners to 30%.

"These individuals represent the next generation of leaders at our Firm," said chairman of the executive committee, Eduardo Leite. "They have excelled in their respective practices, having shown the leadership and dedication, which we encourage in a trusted advisor to our clients."

Including 56 lateral partner hires, Bakers has added 121 new senior lawyers to its partnership ranks.
