Norton Rose Fulbright has beefed up its City debt capital markets team with the hire of CMS Cameron McKenna finance partner Nigel Dickinson.

Dickinson's move comes two years after he joined CMS UK's financial services and products team in London from Allen & Overy, where he was a senior associate at the magic circle firm's City and New York offices.

Dickinson acts for investment banks, commercial banks and non-bank financial institutions on issues including over-the-counter derivatives deals, derivatives clearing, hedging, repackagings and structured finance transactions.

Norton Rose Fulbright global head of banking and finance Jeremy Edwards said: "Derivatives are now used in many of the transactions we are advising on globally, particularly those involving our banking, energy, infrastructure; mining and commodities and transport clients. Nigel's appointment will significantly enhance our transactional derivative capability."

The firm's debt capital markets practice has recently landed mandates including a $1.5bn bond issue for the Islamic Development Bank in March.

The news comes after Norton Rose Fulbright added to the practice in March, with the hire of Clifford Chance lawyer Gregory Man, who joined as partner in Dubai.

Norton Rose Fulbright has turned to CMS UK's London office for several hires in recent years including private equity partner Richard Bull last July, insurance disputes partner Kirsty Hicks last June and insurance litigator Liam O'Connell in 2012.

Earlier this month, Squire Patton Boggs appointed former CMS Cameron McKenna real estates disputes founder Andrew Walker as its new UK head of real estate litigation.
