Jones Day has hired ex-Goldman Sachs director Justin Conway as a partner in its City banking and finance practice as the firm continues its London hiring spree.

Conway is the second partner to join the firm in as many weeks, with the capital markets practice seeing the addition of Neil Hamilton last week from Paul Hastings. He joins from DLA Piper, where he was a partner.

Prior to joining DLA in 2012, Conway held the positions of senior counsel and executive director at Goldman after joining the bank in 2006 specialising in the EMEA debt trading market.

"We're seeing an increasing demand from funds and other clients for advice on debt transactions," said partner-in-charge of Jones Day's London Office, John Phillips.

"Justin has excellent experience and his practice will add a valuable dimension as our growth continues."

At DLA Conway's practice focused on servicing funds and investment banks on debt trading and purchasing activities.

From 2009-2012 he was also a director at the European Loan Market Association.

Last week's recruit Hamilton spent 12 years as a partner at Clifford Chance before joining Paul Hastings in 2012.
