King & Spalding has hired restructuring partner Elisabeth Baltay from Bingham McCutchen, leaving just one partner in Bingham's London office.
Baltay's move follows the exit of 28 partners across Bingham's London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong offices to Akin Gump in recent weeks. Only competition partner Frances Murphy, who joined from Jones Day last year, remains in Bingham's London office.
Bingham's City base suffered one of the largest ever partner defections in the City last month, when a 22-strong group, comprising the bulk of the firm's marquee European restructuring practice, left for Akin.
